The diplomat also thanked the Poles several times for their support of the Ukrainians. However, referring to the blockade of the Polish-Ukrainian border, Wojnarowski did not spare harsh words for the protesting carriers.
– This blockade is a knife in the back to fight against Ukraine. We cannot use aviation, we are blocked at sea, so the possibility of using these border points is a matter of life and death for us. Of course, the supplies of our troops move forward, but when the Russians find out, such convoys become easy targets for bombing. This is a very painful issue for us, and we hope that the new Polish government will be able to solve it, said the Ukrainian diplomat.
Protest of carriers
On November 6, several dozen Polish carriers began blocking three border points with Ukraine. These are Korczowa, Dorohusk and Hrebenne.
Among others, the participants of the rally demand: the introduction of commercial permits for the transportation of goods for Ukrainian companies (except for humanitarian aid and supplies for the Ukrainian army), the suspension of licenses of companies created after the start of the war in Ukraine and the implementation of their inspections, as well as the liquidation of the so-called Electronic queue introduced by the Ukrainian side.
At the end of November, farmers started protesting at Medica border point and announced that the action will continue until January.
The Kiev government estimates that Ukraine's losses due to the blockade of the Polish-Ukrainian border are 9.2 billion UAH (almost 1 billion PLN).
