The American Jewish Organization, which fights hatred and prejudice against Jews, reported that the number of attacks between October 7 and January 7 increased by 360 percent compared to the same period last year. Since October 7, when Hamas attacked Israel, the US has averaged 34 anti-Semitic incidents per day. Most of these incidents involved “verbal or written harassment” or rallies that included anti-Semitic rhetoric and support for terrorism against the State of Israel and/or anti-Zionism. Dozens of assaults and hundreds of reports of vandalism have also been reported.

“The American Jewish community is facing a level of threat right now that is unprecedented in modern history,” said ADL Executive Director Jonathan Greenblatt. He noted that more acts of anti-Semitism were reported in three months than usual for the entire year.

The organization said at least 505 incidents occurred on college campuses, and about 250 were reported at high schools. At least 628 incidents targeted Jewish institutions such as synagogues and community centers, while about two-thirds of all incidents can be directly linked. Israel-Hamas war.
