Legia Warsaw basketball players beat SCP Sporting Lisbon 93:84 in front of their fans.
In the third round of the second stage of the FIBA European Cup, the Warsaw Legia basketball players defeated the Lisbon SK Sporting 93:84 (23:18, 30:25, 17:23, 23:18). This is the second win for coach Wojciech Kaminski's players, who are second in the table.
Legionnaires had the upper hand throughout the match, but their opponents did not give up until the end. Once again, the best scorer of the Warsaw national team was the American Christian Vitali, who scored 31 points (for the third time at the European Cup) and had 6 rebounds and 4 assists.

The hosts led 53:43 at the break, 56:43 at the beginning of the third period, but it was only 70:66 after 30 minutes.
In the fourth quarter, the Portuguese reduced the lead of coach Kaminski's team to three points (80:77 in the 36th minute), but then Vital scored with a three-point shot. He used a free kick and Legia advanced 84:77. Besides Vitali, Arik Holman played well – 10 points and 10 rebounds, and brave Croatian center Josip Sobin – 10 points and seven rebounds.
The next opponent of Legia, who advanced to the second stage with a score of 5-1 in Group J, will be the leader of the table, the unbeaten Turkish team Bahçesehir Koleji Istanbul. Green shooters lost 90:100 on Bosphorus.
