What is the weather like on Saturday, 01.06.24 in the morning?

We will temporarily return to the “warm south”, “cold center” and “freezing north”. However, these are the last such moments in the weather for a long time. Moreover, the temperature contrast between the center and, for example, the regions of Opole or Małopolska will be small, close to three degrees Celsius.

Traditionally, the coldest morning awaits us in the northeast zone: -11 degrees Celsius in Warmia, Masuria and Podkarpacie! Gdańsk Pomeranian thermometers show slightly higher readings near the -8 line. These regions of Poland will definitely be the coldest.

Values from -4 to -1 degrees Celsius are expected:

  • in West Pomerania,
  • in the Pomeranian Lake District,
  • in Greater Poland,
  • in Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship,
  • in the Lodz region,
  • in Mazovia (in the northern part of the region it can be a little cold),
  • Kielce region,
  • in the Lublin region.

Positive indications only in the south of Poland. However, it is cold there too: from Lower Silesia, through the Opole region, Upper Silesia, Lesser Poland to Podkarpassia, the mercury will reach a maximum of +2.

The weather will be low to medium cloudy in most parts of the country. A sunny morning is possible only in Gdańsk Pomerania, Warmia and Mazury and Podlasie. There may be light snow in the central region, and a large wave of rain from the Czech Republic and Slovakia will hit the country. It will reach the Silesia-Lesser Poland border early in the morning and immediately spoil the weather in the region.

Attention! The Institute of Meteorology and Water Resources has issued three warnings for Saturday:

  • before the big snow
  • before a heavy frost,
  • against frozen precipitation.

All weather signs indicate that the situation will become extremely difficult, especially in the south of the country. We recommend checking the IMWM website for updated alerts!

What's the weather like on Saturday 01/06/24 in the afternoon?

We do not expect significant temperature changes in the country. Poland will be divided into three zones: cold, cool and transitional. In the latter, positive readings on thermometers will remain – at least until sunset. Paradoxically, this is not good news for the residents of these areas.

Perhaps if we weren't expecting a wall of rain over southern Poland, the positive readings on the thermometers would have been a nice touch. Unfortunately, at +2 degrees Celsius there is a risk of precipitation freezing.

With the prospect of a cold night across the country, with negative values, this poses a major problem for road workers and road users. This is worth remembering.

It is found practically throughout southern Poland. Precipitation may be intense in places. It is expected that rain or showers may reach the Poznań – Lodz – Kielce – Lublin line in the evening. At the same time, the north of the country has beautiful, sunny (but frosty) weather. It will be a day of huge weather contrasts.

What is the weather like on Saturday, 01/06/24 evening?

It is expected to cool down shortly after sunset across most of the country, including the south where there will be some frost. It is quite likely that the thermal will look like this:

Snow lovers from the south of the country who envy the white powder of their northeastern compatriots can now rub their hands together. The rain will eventually turn to snow in the evening and overnight. In the Bieszczady Mountains, this “transformation” may not occur until the morning, overnight from Saturday to Sunday.

How will this affect Poland's snow cover? The easiest way to visualize it is in graphics. We predict it will turn white over much of the country overnight:

But this is not the end! The white fluff will grow again. We will tell you the details in tomorrow's weather news.
