The 2024 tour will last 45 weeks. 41 of them will be awarded a 1000, 500, final or Grand Slam tournament. In total, more than 70 different competitions are planned, scattered around the world.
New qualification rules will also apply. The idea is to give the best players a chance to compete against each other more often. However, the weak will mostly be found in the 250-level tournaments, and the discipline will be strengthened in the less productive countries.
An important change also regarding the WTA finals. So far, the top eight players based on Race's rankings have qualified for the tournament. In the current season, the first seven tennis players will receive a pass, and the eighth will be the winner of the Grand Slam tournament, who is ranked 8-20.
